You probably shouldn’t go to Downtown Miami, especially if you’ve recently taken a graduate course in economic development heavy in critical theory and other sorts unspeakably dense academic literature. No matter what your professors tell you, the effects of rethinking on the brain are irreversible, and drinking only exacerbates the problem. Really, the only surefire cure is Liana Pailodze.

Panic Bomber and Monica and Tasha Lopez de Victoria of the TM Sisters are up to something. I recently happened upon them on the beach at sunrise, concocting elaborate and fantastic poses which they proceeded to strike and hold, brilliantly, for an audience of hermit crabs and seagulls. Luckily I had my camera handy. They let me snap a few pictures, but wouldn’t give me too much detail on their upcoming collaboration. I attempted to imagine some of the possibilities, but fell into a dissociative fugue only to awaken in a Wal-Mart check-out lane with 75 bags of flavored marshmallows and an emergency car repair kit. Pure Imagination is a radio drama broadcast by beloved story teller and bouncy house enthusiast Matt Gajewski on 90.5 WVUM in Miami, FL. Every so often, Matt graces local book and record shops with his affable disposition and contagious vocal inflections to read his works to Miamians big and medium sized, and people of various sizes from elsewhere. In celebration of Matt’s most recent expedition, and central air conditioning, I summoned the spirits of those whimsical folks who consider traveling to the world’s harshest environments a superb idea and designed this flier. The event has unfortunately passed on, but I assure you, you can hear Matt read his stories for free on the Internet.
Liana Pailodze plays the piano. She’s not afraid of the 5-finger fillet. She’s fearless. I once saw her make walnut oil with her bare hands. Here’s a flier I made for her upcoming doctoral recital. Check it out if you’re in the Miami area!
My neighbor recently asked if I would make some photo-copies of a list of homeless shelters for him. He always keeps a few copies of the list on hand, just in case he runs into someone who might need the information. I thought it was a pretty good idea, so I made some copies for myself as well and used Google Maps to put together a map of the shelters. You can download a PDF with the list and the map here.
